The North Coast of the Dominican Republic offers some of the finest ocean view and ocean front property in the Caribbean. In addition to stunning ocean views, the North Coast is also home to dramatic cliffs and mountain ridges that overlook miles of coast and many small towns and villages, each with it’s own character and charms. Whether you prefer a quaint little fishing village like Cabrera, a bustling tourist town like Sosua or Caberete, or a larger commercial town like Puerto Plata, you are sure to find it on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.
We realize there are many tropical countries fighting for your attention, but we are confident that it will be hard to find a place to retire to or purchase tropical property that is a better value than what you will find here on the North Coast.
As you will see on the map, the main North Coast region that is of most interest to expats spans from Puerto Plata in the northwest all the way over to the more eclectic international community at Las Terrenes on the Samana Peninsula in the northeast. The towns of particular interest to expats along the North Coast highway include Puerto Plata, Sosua, Cabarete, Rio San Juan, Cabrera and Las Terrenes. This region is home to some of the most pristine and uncrowded beaches in the Caribbean. It is not hard to find a beach where you may have the beach all to yourself on a weekday.
I encourage you to contact us on the form below so that we can give you all the details about one of our Discovery Tours. Spots are pretty limited, but we will include you if we can.
Until you see it with your own eyes, you can never fully appreciate just how ideal the North Coast is for a retirement or tropical home away from home.
We attract a lot of Americans, Canadians and Europeans who are looking for a lower cost of living, perfect year-round weather and some of the friendliest people in the Tropics. That is why we offer Discovery Tours of the North Coast region. We want you to experience what so many other happy expats have discovered.
While it is only a couple hours away from the US, it is decades away from the strong-handed control you will experience in the US or Europe, and even Canada. This North Coast region, up around the Cabrera area, offers a beautiful and unique rural environment where the economy is not tourism based. This is a critical point. This region offers an abundance of natural, organic fruits, vegetables, meats and seafood and virtually unlimited free fresh water supplies.

Hello,
I am so happy to have found your videos and web site. Great job on the videos by the way! I have recently decided to move from Canada to live as cheaply as possible and do volunteer work. I was encouraged by Denise’s experience in one of your videos. I am also one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
I have been looking at a few other countries to move but recently committed to the idea of DR and hoping to make contact with friends of friends. That is still in the works. Although I have sold my house in Calgary I don’t see that I could buy a house in the DR but I would like to take your tour and get your advise on where to settle. My plan is to fly in sometime in learly April.
Please send additional information on your fees for the tour.
Thank you for your assistance.

Karen sorry for the late response. Been with folks steadily for a while now. As far as April goes it won’t work for us. Have prior bookings and taking a good part of the month off with visiting family. Perhaps some other time would work.
Best regards

Hello Barry,
Thank you for all your wonderfull videos of cabrera. My family and I want to drive from santo domingo to check out Cabrera beaches, and area for a day or two in June 2017. What would you recommend? My husband and I God willing will be retiring in 2019. We are thinking of making Cabrera our home town since is similar to Jarabacoa but it also has plenty of beaches. Thank you Fiol
That sounds great. Just reach out if we can be of assistance.
